Yoo Kangmin of VERIVERY Speaks Out on Pressure from His Looks
Yoo Kangmin, member of VERIVERY, has opened up about the struggles he faces due to being labeled as the group’s visual member.
In a recent interview, Kangmin revealed that despite receiving compliments about his appearance since childhood, he feels an overwhelming pressure. This pressure affects his confidence and leads him to doubt his other talents.
Kangmin stated,
“I think I was scared. From a young age, people always complimented my face, but I heard so often that I lacked in other areas. If I come on the show and fail to do well, then I’ll really become that sort of person. That’s why I was really scared. So I worked hard to try to make up for the things I lacked in.”
His words resonated widely, sparking discussions online.
Fans have shown support, with many expressing their sympathy for Kangmin’s situation.
Kangmin recently participated in the survival show Boys II Planet, where he secured 9th place. He did not debut with ALD1 but will return to VERIVERY for upcoming promotions.
Kangmin’s candid comments have brought attention to the challenges K-pop idols face beyond just their looks.
