PENTAGON’s Yanan is facing a serious privacy invasion.
On September 25, Yanan returned from the airport to his residence, only to discover three female fans trailing him home. Surveillance footage revealed two of the fans climbed over a garage barrier and lingered inside his residential complex.
Yanan’s studio shared a strong statement on Weibo, emphasizing that this behavior “seriously violated the artist’s privacy and residential safety.” They quickly reported the incident to the police.
Since the individuals were underage, they avoided legal repercussions by writing apology letters and promising not to repeat their actions. The studio urged fans to respect Yanan’s privacy, stating:
“A private residence and travel schedule are core areas of an artist’s privacy. Any following, trespassing, or spying behavior is already illegal.”
The studio further rejected “all illegal stalking behavior,” calling for fans to maintain proper boundaries when supporting Yanan.
This incident is not the first time Yanan has dealt with privacy issues. It highlights ongoing concerns about sasaeng culture in the K-pop industry.
