Hyungwon of MONSTA X hosted a special fan event called ‘Hyungwon’s Wonder Garden’ on May 17 in Seoul, just four days after completing his 18-month military service. The highly anticipated event sold out quickly, welcoming fans eager to reunite with the singer.
Hyungwon made a surprise entrance, bouquet in hand, and opened with the song ‘Window’ by Damon’s Year, expressing his emotions through music. Addressing his fans, known as MONBEBE, he shared, “I was nervous to see you again, but I wanted to share something meaningful.”
The event featured the segment ‘546 Days: A Flower in Bloom’, where he shared anecdotes and photos from his time in the military, including humorous stories and moments with his trombone borrowed from Kihyun.
In the ‘MONBEBE in Bloom’ segment, Hyungwon read heartfelt letters from fans submitted via Berriz, including one written in a Busan dialect that elicited both tears and laughter. He showcased his musical talent with a medley featuring songs like ‘Igloo’, ‘Magnetic’, and ‘Siren’.
The energy heightened during a post-it challenge, where Hyungwon fulfilled fans’ wishes by participating in trending dance challenges and performing tracks such as ‘Fallin’’ and ‘Rodeo’. Interactive segments like ‘Charades’ allowed fans to engage in playful activities, with Hyungwon giving out 100 autographed posters per session as rewards.
Concluding the event, Hyungwon expressed, “No matter how cold the world may be, I hope this place will always be your greenhouse.” He wrapped up the day with a performance of ‘Just Throw Something On’ by Woody and personally greeted fans as they left.
Following the event, Hyungwon stated through Starship Entertainment, “Seeing MONBEBE again after so long made me nervous, but also so happy. I hope this day stays in your memory as much as it will in mine. Let’s see each other more, laugh more, and be happier together. I love you, MONBEBE.”
Hyungwon will resume his official activities as the MC at the ‘Asia Star Entertainer Awards 2025’ on May 29.
