Kim Soo Hyun Allegedly Facing Lawsuit From International Advertisers Over Damages

Kim Soo Hyun Reportedly Sued By International Advertisers For Damages

Actor Kim Soo Hyun is facing significant legal challenges as Taiwan’s 7-Eleven prepares to file a lawsuit for damages. This development comes amidst ongoing controversy surrounding the performer’s private life, which has prompted various advertisers to take action against him.

Initially, 7-Eleven in Taiwan had planned to launch a range of products, including coffee, food, and memorabilia, featuring Kim Soo Hyun. However, plans have since been halted due to the ongoing situation. The actor was also expected to appear at a festival in March as part of 7-Eleven’s promotional strategy but was notably absent from the event.

Reports indicate that the financial impact of this controversy is substantial, with 7-Eleven estimating a loss of approximately ₩4.60 billion KRW (around $3.29 million USD). Including discarded promotional items and lost advertising revenue, total losses could reach ₩6.00 billion KRW (about $4.29 million USD). As of now, Taiwan 7-Eleven has not issued an official statement regarding the lawsuit or their future plans.

This isn’t the first time Kim Soo Hyun has faced legal repercussions related to brand collaborations. Previously, advertisers in South Korea filed lawsuits seeking damages amounting to ₩6.00 billion KRW (approximately $4.29 million USD) due to similar concerns. Recently, the actor also lodged a complaint against Garo Sero Research Institute’s Kim Se Ui and the bereaved family of the late Kim Sae Ron, asserting that their claims against him are "complete lies."

As the situation continues to evolve, it remains to be seen how these legal battles will impact the actor’s career and public image.
