Celebrations are in order for BLACKPINK‘s own Rosé and the rising stars of NewJeans as they walk away with prestigious honors at the inaugural Music Awards Japan 2025.
This exciting event, curated by Japan’s five leading music organizations, including the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ), saw over 5,000 professionals from the music industry cast their votes across 62 categories to determine the winners.
Rosé lit up the night as she was announced the victor of the ‘Best International Pop Song in Japan‘ for her infectious 2024 hit “APT.” featuring none other than Bruno Mars. Meanwhile, NewJeans snagged the award for ‘Best K-Pop Song in Japan‘ with their captivating track, “Ditto“.
Mark your calendars! The main award ceremony, set to unveil winners in six major categories including ‘Song of the Year‘, ‘Artist of the Year‘, and more, will air live on May 22 at 7:30 PM JST. Fans can tune in on NHK and catch the livestream on YouTube.
Alongside her win, Rosé is also in the running for the coveted ‘Song of the Year‘ award for “APT.”. The competition remains fierce with other K-Pop powerhouses like aespa, nominated for their song “Supernova“, and PLAVE with “Way 4 Luv“, vying for the ‘Best Song Asia‘ title.
