In the latest episode of The Seasons – Park Bo Gum’s Cantabile, actor and host Park Bo Gum opened up about his admiration for the K-pop group I-DLE, making waves among fans of both the star and the band.
This episode featured I-DLE as special guests discussing their newest music release and their significant rebranding. During a lively interview, Park shared his love for their tracks, mentioning he often plays their songs while working out. “It’s not an easy feat, shall I say, to change a group name,” he remarked, referencing their transition from (G)I-DLE to simply I-DLE.
Soyeon, I-DLE’s leader, chimed in, clarifying, “To be honest, when we first debuted, we thought our name would be just I-DLE. But then, after we debuted, we saw that articles mentioned us as being (Girl) I-DLE or (G)I-DLE. We were always ‘I-DLE’ from the beginning.”
Park commended the group for their collaborative effort in their recent album. Soyeon confirmed, “This is the first album all our members worked on together,” adding, “I think we are the ones who write our team’s songs the best.”
Excitedly, Bo Gum revealed that one of his go-to workout tracks is their hit song “Senorita.” He also expressed his admiration for the lyrics of “i’M THE TREND” and the track “Give Me Your,” showcasing his appreciation for I-DLE’s music.
The discussion took a sentimental turn when Park reflected on his first encounter with member Minnie during the Music Bank World Tour two years ago. The I-DLE members reminisced, “Didn’t we perform on stage together then?” Holding on to the memory, Bo Gum confirmed, “That’s right. We sang ‘Remember Me.’ I played the piano and you sang. We didn’t have time to rehearse together, but when I heard Minnie’s voice through the in-ear monitor, I was completely taken in.”
