Actress Jin Seo Yeon, widely recognized for her captivating performance in the K-movie Believer, has opened up about her love story during a recent appearance on MBN’s The Jun Hyun Moo Plan 2. It was back in May 2014 when she tied the knot with her husband, who is nine years her senior. Despite his low-profile status, Jin has shared intriguing snippets about their relationship, including their whirlwind romance.
On the show, hosted by Jun Hyun Moo, she recounted how the couple registered their marriage merely three months into their dating journey. When Jun expressed curiosity about their first meeting, Jin revealed, “At a club in Itaewon.”
Jun Hyun Moo: So I heard you and your husband registered the marriage three months into dating.
Jin Seo Yeon: That’s correct. In fact, I was the one who asked for it.
Jun Hyun Moo: Really?! How did you meet him?
Jin Seo Yeon: While clubbing. Yep. I was dancing my butt off in Itaewon when I met him. I was 29 at the time. He’s nine years older. Neither of us drinks, but we love dancing and music, so we really clicked.
However, the initial chemistry didn’t exactly spark joy. Jin admitted she felt irritated by her future husband at first. She recalled, “Watching him take over the stage, I didn’t find him attractive. In fact, I thought, ‘What’s wrong with this dude?’”
“When I go clubbing, I dance it all out. I go thinking, ‘Let’s shed some pounds.’ So I was having fun, and then I noticed this man using up even more stage space than I was. He noticed me, too, and he started pushing me off the stage… as if he was trying to claim his territory. I was like, ‘What’s wrong with this dude?’”

But as fate would have it, their rocky start took a delightful turn when Jin discovered he was friends with one of her close pals. The next day, while grabbing coffee, she spotted him walking in and confronted him about his earlier antics on the dance floor. His response? A cheeky, “You were more aggressive than I was. The stage isn’t all that big, you need to share.” To her surprise, he smoothly slid his cellphone across the table for her to dial.
“I ended up getting in his car and that’s when he asked me if I’d ever seen a 3D TV. He said he had one at home and that we should go check it out… So I did and, well, that was that.”

Fast forward a few years, and the couple welcomed their son, Lee Louie, in 2018, marking a joyful chapter in their lives together.
