Popular Actress Displays Facial Burn Scar for the First Time—Learn What Occurred

Popular Actress Reveals Burn Scar On Her Face For The First Time—Here's What Happened

In a recent and distressing update, South Korean actress Yoon Ji Ni, renowned for her role in the hit 2012 K-Drama A Gentleman’s Dignity, has been in the news due to a significant personal health scare. The actress suffered a second-degree burn on her face during a wrinkle-reducing procedure at a dermatology clinic in Seoul back in 2021.

The incident occurred when Yoon visited “Dr. A’s” clinic in Seocho-gu to receive three different types of treatments, including laser and ultrasound procedures. While under sedation, she unfortunately sustained a burn to her left cheek. Despite receiving immediate care, which included a moisture bandage, the situation escalated, leading to the diagnosis of a severe second-degree burn.

Fast forward to today, Yoon Ji Ni has endured over 50 treatment sessions aimed at improving the appearance of the scar, but it remains a visible presence on her face. In a heartfelt vlog uploaded on May 20, 2025, fans noticed the distinct dark spot under her left eye, a reminder of her past ordeal.

At the time of the accident, Yoon was gearing up to shoot her weekend drama, Young Lady And Gentleman. The impact of her injury was financially significant; she reportedly spent an additional ₩9.55 million KRW (roughly $6,990 USD) on CG effects to edit out the scar from her scenes. Subsequently, she pursued legal action against Dr. A for ₩200 million KRW (about $146,000 USD). In a recent ruling, the Seoul Central District Court found in favor of Yoon, acknowledging the dermatologist’s negligence.

The court ordered compensation totaling ₩50.0 million KRW (approximately $36,600 USD), which included ₩11.2 million KRW for scar treatment, ₩11.0 million KRW for further medical needs, ₩10.8 million KRW for projected lost income, and ₩25.0 million KRW for emotional distress.

In her personal life, Yoon Ji Ni married finance expert Kim Tae Geun in October 2022 and welcomed their first daughter in March 2023. Earlier this year, on February 24, she celebrated the birth of their second daughter, embracing the joyful chaos of motherhood with grace.

For fans who want to catch up with Yoon, her recent YouTube video highlights her ongoing journey, as she continues to navigate life both on and off the screen.
