Blades Unleashed, Heir at Risk

Blades Drawn, Heir in Danger

Tensions escalate in SBS’s ‘The Haunted Palace’ as the spirit Palcheok-gwi targets royal heir Wonja.

In the June 6 episode, the vengeful entity, played by Seo Do-young, makes a lethal move against Park Jae-jun’s Wonja, ramping up the drama.

Details unfold: Yeori, portrayed by Kim Ji-yeon, reveals that the rare Gol Damcho flower has bloomed. Monk Gaseop, played by Lee Won-jong, explains that it can counter Palcheok-gwi’s powers using the mystical Yagwangju bead. Notably, Yook Sung-jae’s Kang Cheol-i is already in the loop.

Palcheok-gwi invades Kim Ji-hoon’s Lee Jeong’s mind, forcing him to confront his ancestors’ dark past, including the massacre of Yongdamgol. The spirit accuses Lee Jeong, stating,

“You wear that royal robe because my family, my people, and my home were sacrificed for your dynasty.”

Lee Jeong awakens, now possessed.

Under Palcheok-gwi’s influence, he releases Poongsan and others from execution. He then threatens Queen Dowager (Han Soo-yeon) with execution as viewers gasp in suspense.

Kang Cheol-i races to find the Gol Damcho flower to protect Yeori. Meanwhile, the Queen Dowager hides Wonja at Choi Won-woo’s residence, where Kang Cheol-i and Yeori are gathered.

As Lee Jeong tracks them down, his fury simmers. The episode culminates in a tense showdown between Kang Cheol-i and the possessed Lee Jeong, their swords clashing.

Catch the gripping finale of ‘The Haunted Palace’ airing June 7 at 9:50 PM KST.
