Lee Kyung Kyu is under police investigation for allegedly driving under the influence of prescription medication.
MBN reported that the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul booked the comedian without detention for violating the Road Traffic Act.
The incident happened on June 8, 2025 (KST) around 2:05 PM. Lee Kyung Kyu drove away from an indoor golf practice in Gangnam in a foreign vehicle that wasn’t his. The car’s owner filed a theft report. Police found out the parking attendant had accidentally handed Lee the wrong car keys.
Police questioned Lee when he returned with the vehicle. A breathalyzer test was negative, but a rapid drug test came back positive. The police are still investigating and have declined to comment further.

But South Korean law makes it illegal to drive under the influence of any drugs that impair safe vehicle operation.
