CRAVITY faces backlash over bizarre “alien egg” concept photos for new album
CRAVITY is stirring up controversy with their mood teaser and concept photos for their upcoming second album, Dare to Crave. Released on June 13, 2025 (KST), the photos show members breaking out of an egg, covered in a gooey substance — sparking confused and grossed-out reactions from fans.
The STARSHIP Entertainment boy group aimed for a creative concept. But fans quickly pushed back, calling the visuals unsettling and off-putting.
Some fan comments from theqoo:
“Ugh, makes me want to barf.”
“What are they, Gudetamas? What even is this?”
“It’s making me nauseous…”
“Looks just like me when my nose is running.”
“Looks like an alien ate them and then threw up.”
Others pointed out the “alien” and “covered in c*m” aesthetic, finding it overly strange or weirdly filthy.
“It might’ve been fine if it were toned down, but this is just way too much.”
“It doesn’t even come across as sexual, just gross LOL.”
“It’s unsettling, uncomfortable, and dirty… Not sexually dirty, just weirdly filthy… I instinctively furrowed my brow the moment I saw it.”
Both Korean and international fans questioned the direction behind the concept photos.
Dare to Crave is set to drop on June 23, 2025 (KST).
