Actor Son Suk Ku Declares Temporary Career Break

Actor Son Suk Ku Announces Career Hiatus

Son Suk Ku is planning a sabbatical after a long run of nonstop work.

The actor has been killing it with hit projects like D.P. (2021-2023), My Liberation Notes (2022), The Outlaws (2022), A Killer Paradox (2024), Heavenly Ever After (2025), and The Ninth Puzzle (2025). Now, he’s ready to switch gears.

In a recent interview with Sports Seoul, Son revealed he’ll take a “quite a long break” once his current projects wrap.

Son said his old goal was to take on as many roles as possible. Now that he’s reached it, he wants to focus on more meaningful expression.

“I don’t want it anymore. Creating a large number of works requires an incredible amount of time and effort. I thought it was time to bring some change by trying to act in a different way.”

He also shared that he has no ambition to be the “one-top” actor. He never craved leading roles but prefers ensemble casts for the synergy with other actors.

Son is also working on screenplays during his break.

“I do have a dream,”

“I want to take on challenges I haven’t tried before.”
