BLACKPINK ticket scam shakes Hong Kong fans
A Hong Kong man in his twenties lost HK$4,900 (about $624.23 USD) trying to buy BLACKPINK concert tickets. The victim attempted to buy two tickets for the group’s Hong Kong concert next year but never received the promised e-ticket QR codes.
Hong Kong police have launched an investigation amid a surge in online shopping fraud cases. Last week alone, authorities received 200 reports of scams, with losses totaling about ₩900 million KRW (around $659,000 USD), according to the National Police Agency’s CyberDefender Facebook page.
Police warned residents to be vigilant when purchasing tickets online, especially recommending thorough checks of seller accounts and in-person transactions when possible.
