The teaser showcased a fun photo sticker layout that many users link to Japanese purikura culture. One frustrated Twitter user pointed out, "People are saying, ‘But WISH received no hate,’ but 4 out of their 6 members are Japanese… Hearts2Hearts doesn’t have a single Japanese member. Why are they using Japanese elements?"
Another user commented, "They’re trying to make Japanese culture seem like it originated from Korea." This fueled the debate, with many criticizing the girl group for borrowing from Japanese aesthetics.
