Shinhwa’s Lee Minwoo opens up about mental health struggles and career burnout

Lee Minwoo shocked fans by revealing his recent struggles with mental health and career fatigue on a variety show.

He confessed feeling worn out after years in the industry and admitted he’s currently unsigned to any company.

“The glamour of being an idol is gradually fading away. When you get older, you retire from your job. If you think of it as an engine, it has worn out a lot.
I feel worn out. I think, ‘Not yet. I can run a bit more,’ but my self-esteem has dropped. I haven’t signed a contract with a company yet. It feels like I’ve worked hard, but only my empty and hollow body remains.”

Lee also revealed he’s been seeking psychiatric help and was prescribed medication after months of treatment.

“In the past, I went to a psychiatrist for about six months and was prescribed medication. I feel like I’m trapped in being alone because I spend a lot of time by myself.”
