Taeil is facing major controversy after admitting guilt in an aggravated rape case.
The former NCT member and two acquaintances were charged with aggravated rape. The public learned about this on August 28, when it was announced that Taeil would no longer be with NCT. The charges had been filed earlier that summer.
During the trial on June 18, prosecutors revealed chilling details. Taeil and the others met at a bar in Itaewon at 2:33 a.m. on June 13. They drank together, then forced the unconscious, drunk victim into a taxi to a residence in Seoul’s Bangbae district. Between 4:00 a.m. and 4:30 a.m., they collectively raped the victim.
Shockingly, just one day later on June 14, Taeil went live on Instagram for his birthday. He smiled, played piano, and talked about his future plans, appearing completely unbothered.
Netizens erupted online, furious that Taeil went live hours after the assault.
