Ginni is facing controversy over dating the CEO of her company, Echo, who is 10 years older than her.
The female idol, born in 2001, reportedly started dating Echo’s CEO back when she joined the Echo dance group in Grade 9 (2016/17). Accusations surfaced claiming that the company focused solely on her, leading to almost all original Echo members quitting. She was allegedly infamous for "princess sickness" and had a reputation for badmouthing other trainees.
A friend of a former Echo trainee spoke out, revealing harsh treatment behind the scenes.
“I’m a friend of a former Echo trainee. Actually, the original members of the group aren’t just the ones you guys are seeing now. There were many changes. The reason why my friend left was because Ginni badmouthed her behind her back with other trainees. She wasn’t the only victim either.
When my friend told the company, she got scolded by a bunch of people, and her training activities were stopped. She had signed a relatively long-term contract, and they dragged things out without terminating it. It was as if she was put on a hiatus. My friend developed mental health issues because of this.”
The source added more on the company’s toxic environment and favoritism toward Ginni.
“Actually, besides these ones, there were others who were trainees, including my friend. But they were forced to leave because Ginni kept badmouthing them. If you guys are lucky, you might see posts from former employees who accused the company of not paying wages. A lot of staff left, too.
The company only focused on Ginni. She’s actually not that close with her group members now. Her boyfriend only cares about her and has done all of this because of her. Since she doesn’t have actual talent, he had to find other people to complement her.”
The controversy sparked mixed reactions from netizens online.
“Just because you’ve said it, does it mean it’s true? You need to show some proof first. How is an old photo of hers considered proof? Think about it, isn’t it hilarious? How amazing must a young girl be to make everyone leave the group?”
“No proof at all. You could claim she’s my mom.”
“A former member liked this post…it seems like everyone had been suffering silently.”
“When they came back to Hong Kong the other day, the CEO was pushing their luggage at the back. I didn’t see anyone talking about it, so I thought everyone held it in and didn’t want to expose everything.”
“She depended on the CEO. No wonder an ugly girl like her is the center of the group. The girl from Taiwan is the prettiest.”
The train of accusations continues as followers monitor the situation closely. Echo and Ginni’s camp have yet to respond.
