CRAVITY is facing backlash after a HYBE creative director seemingly called them out on social media.
Minchae, who has worked with BTS’s V and Jin as well as TXT, posted an Instagram story that many fans interpreted as a dig at CRAVITY’s recent concept photos.
The post was a throwback to her work on TXT’s Beomgyu’s Panic mixtape, which she directed visually. Her caption read, “authenticity & sincerity.”
Netizens connected this to CRAVITY’s new concept photos, saying the visuals seemed too similar to the Panic project.
Some fans support Minchae’s subtle jab, while others point out HYBE has also reused ideas from other creatives before.
Critics argued:
“Isn’t this something HYBE has done many times as well?”
“The photographer is the same. So how can you even raise this concern?”
“The director plans the concept and object. I’m not sure what a photographer has to do with it.”
Others defended CRAVITY, calling the backlash unfair to the group’s director just because they’re under a HYBE label.
“That person isn’t even the one plagiarizing, so why are they being mocked for simply being a HYBE group’s director? The comments are ridiculous?”
“CRAVITY is making a lot of noise with their concept photos this time. I’m rooting for them because they have members I like, but it’s a bit disappointing.”
The controversy is gaining traction as fans debate the originality of CRAVITY’s concept versus HYBE’s creative history. No official statements from either side yet.
