A Korean husband is facing heavy backlash for bodyshaming his wife on JTBC’s Divorce Camp.
The controversial remarks came during the June 19 episode, featuring the so-called “diet couple” who previously appeared on the show. The husband insulted his wife’s past weight gain with comments like:
“Look at the fat folding under your chest,”
“Sleeping with a woman who weighs over 90kg is extremely shameful,”
“I locked the door at night because I was scared my wife might pounce on me.”
His wife once weighed nearly 100kg but lost nearly 45kg, now maintaining 52kg.
In the latest episode, he added:
“Not wanting to sleep with a fat woman is the same as not wanting to sleep with a short man. I have opinions too— what’s the problem?”
He also admitted his feelings “didn’t start as love” but claims he has grown to love her.
Netizens slammed the husband’s bodyshaming and called out the insincerity behind his statements. The controversy continues to gain traction online.
