Kim Soo Hyun is firing back with new legal action in his explosive controversy with Kim Se Ui and late actress Kim Sae Ron’s family.
On June 23, Kim Soo Hyun’s legal team at L.K.B & Partners revealed they filed an additional lawsuit and criminal complaint. The charges target false accusations and fabricated evidence pushed by Kim Se Ui, operator of the Garo Sero Institute.
The drama exploded after a May 7 press conference where Kim Se Ui played an AI-generated deepfake audio, claiming it was Kim Sae Ron’s voice. The file supposedly proved Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron dated since middle school. Kim Se Ui also accused Kim Soo Hyun’s side of offering ₩4 billion KRW (~$2.91 million USD) for the file and assaulting the whistleblower when rejected.
Kim Soo Hyun’s camp called these “absurd and baseless lies” and condemned the use of fabricated evidence for criminal complaints.
Kim Se Ui and the late Kim Sae Ron’s family went beyond merely spreading false information based on a forged audio file, they even filed a criminal complaint against actor Kim Soo Hyun, accusing him of false charges and violations of the Child Welfare Act.
