Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters reveals real singers behind HUNTR/X’s hit songs
Netflix’s new animated action-comedy KPop Demon Hunters is blowing up worldwide. The show centers on two fictional groups: Saja Boys, demon boy idols, and HUNTR/X, demon-hunting girl idols.
Fans are obsessed not only with the story but also the original soundtrack. Songs by HUNTR/X — “What It Sounds Like,” “Golden,” “Takedown,” and “How It’s Done” — are trending for their vocal power. The mystery of who sings behind the animated characters is finally out.
Here are the real voices powering HUNTR/X:
EJAE for Rumi
EJAE, a Korean-American vocal producer based in Brooklyn, is the voice of Rumi, HUNTR/X’s main vocalist. She also wrote several songs on the soundtrack. EJAE has worked with TWICE, NMIXX, Red Velvet, and KARD. Her voice is familiar to K-pop fans from aespa’s demo track “Armageddon.”
Audrey Nuna for Mira
Mira, the group’s visual and lead dancer, is voiced by Audrey Nuna (Audrey Chu), an R&B singer from New Jersey signed to Sony Music Entertainment. She’s known for tracks like “Damn Right” and “Comic Sans.”
Rei Ami for Zoey
Zoey, the American-born rapper and youngest member, is voiced by Korean-American singer-songwriter and rapper Rei Ami. She rose to fame in 2020 with “Freak,” a viral TikTok hit.
These women’s voices have sparked debate online, with fans saying they outperform many current idols.
