Rookie Girl Group Member's Korean War Post Draws Heated Reactions

Kya of KiiiKiii sparks buzz with heartfelt Korean War post

Kya, the youngest member of rookie girl group KiiiKiii, drew attention on June 25, KST, for a public post commemorating the Korean War.

The 13-year-old idol marked the anniversary by honoring those who fought and died in the conflict.

“Today is the day we remember the Korean War of June 25.”

She added,

“The reason I can laugh and have fun conversations with fans like this and make great music is all thanks to those who came before us.”

Kya paid respects to the fallen and encouraged fans to silently give thanks for peace.

“I think today would be a good day to quietly offer our gratitude in our hearts to everyone who protected our present and our peace.”

June 25 is a critical date in South Korean history, marking the start of the Korean War in 1950, which lasted until 1953.

Born in 2010, Kya’s mature message impressed the public given her young age.

KiiiKiii debuted under Starship Entertainment with their album Uncut Gem in March. Their title track “I Do Me” hit YouTube’s top trending video and ranked on Melon’s Hot 100. The group leads rookie idol brand reputation rankings consistently since their debut.
