Fourth-Generation Girl Group Members Expose The Harsh Financial Truths Of K-Pop

Fourth-Gen Girl Group Members Reveal The Scary Financial Reality Of K-Pop

Seoryoung and Yechan expose brutal financial struggles of K-Pop idols on ENA’s Undercover

Two former fourth-gen idols just put the harsh reality of K-Pop cash flow on full display.

Seoryoung, ex-GWSN, revealed her group was abandoned due to her agency’s worsening financial state.

She said,

"I debuted in 2018, but due to the company’s worsening situation, we were basically abandoned."

The neglect led to the group’s disbandment and left fans and audiences emotional.

Ex-IZ*ONE member Kwon Eunbi empathized with Seoryoung, saying she understood exactly how it felt.

Meanwhile, Yechan, who debuted twice with Awe5ome Baby (2015) and Pink Fantasy (2018), revealed she earned zero income over seven years.

To survive, Yechan worked multiple part-time jobs including delivery services and factory work. She currently works at a barbecue restaurant while pursuing her music career.

Both idols are competing on ENA’s survival show Undercover, where cover singers reinterpret original songs to become top “cover” influencers.

Since its June 12 premiere, the show has cracked the top 10 on major OTT platforms, making their stories impossible to ignore.
