Super Junior’s Heechul Vows to Stay Unmarried—Reasons Explained

Super Junior's Heechul Swears He Will Never Get Married—Here's Why

Super Junior’s Heechul is putting marriage on hold after getting freaked out by legal divorce advice.

On the June 29, 2025 episode of SBS’s My Little Old Boy, Heechul sat down with lawyers alongside Lee Sang Min and Lee Dong Gun to discuss how assets get split in divorce cases. When the topic turned to YouTuber couples fighting over their channels, Lee Sang Min asked Heechul if he’d split his assets with a wife.

The answer? No way. Heechul said:

Lee Sang Min: What about your assets? You have a lot, don’t you?
Lawer Park Min Chul: What if you get married and your wife wants to split the assets? If she suggests putting her name in the title for your house, would you agree?
Heechul: No way.

He doubled down:

Heechul: Then I’d tell her that I don’t want her stuff either. She can keep what’s hers, and I will keep what’s mine.

The lawyers explained that while it is possible to avoid joint ownership, over time and with children, dividing property becomes complicated. Heechul was shocked to learn his house, “bought with [his] money,” could be at risk in a divorce.

Heechul: But I bought my house with my money… Isn’t it unfair to split it? I saved up from doing My Little Old Boy and Super Junior activities to buy that house.

After hearing the lawyers confirm the house would still be subject to property division, Heechul threw in the towel.

Heechul: Well, then, I’m not getting married!
