Police Reach Verdict in Former THE BOYZ Member Ju Haknyeon’s Alleged Prostitution Case

Police Make Decision On Former THE BOYZ Ju Haknyeon’s Alleged Prostitution Case

Ju Haknyeon is cleared by Seoul Gangnam Police in prostitution case.

On July 2, authorities confirmed they will not prosecute the former THE BOYZ member for prostitution charges.

The controversy began in May when Ju Haknyeon was reported to have met ex-Japanese adult video actress Asuka Kirara at a private Tokyo bar. Following the reports, he was withdrawn from THE BOYZ and had his contract terminated.

Suspicion of sexual relations with Asuka Kirara surfaced, which Ju Haknyeon strongly denied. He also questioned the contract termination and announced plans to sue the accuser for false allegations.

A complaint requesting an investigation into Ju Haknyeon and his agency was filed on June 19 but was dismissed due to insufficient evidence.

The police said the accusations only stem from an internet article, lacking specific reasons or circumstances to open an investigation.

The accuser responded:

“In the past, there were several cases where agencies launched formal investigations into cases based on media reports. This case is also reported on the same standards, and it is a shame that the police decided to dismiss the case simply because the requirements to start one were insufficient.”

And added:

“I would like to make it clear that since the authorities have not determined that the accusation is false, it does not meet the legal requirements for a false accusation.”
