J-Hope is facing controversy over his single "Killin’ It Girl." The track was initially deemed unsuitable for broadcast by KBS due to specific lyrics.
The controversy began on June 11 when KBS ruled both the solo and GloRilla versions unfit because they violated Article 46 of the broadcasting review code. This article restricts the use of brand names in lyrics that could imply advertising.
Soon after the ruling, J-Hope revised the lyrics prior to his performance on Music Bank on June 20. He showcased the edited version, excluding the problematic lines.
According to KBS’s updated results released on July 9, both versions of "Killin’ It Girl" were re-evaluated and now cleared for air.
"Songs previously ruled unfit can be re-evaluated if offensive content is removed," stated KBS.
With this new “suitable” ruling, "Killin’ It Girl" is now ready for broadcast across KBS TV and radio platforms.
Make sure to catch J-Hope’s performance now that the song has permission to air!
