Doyoung is making headlines again, but this time for a heartwarming reason!
On July 11, the donation platform ‘Direct Donation Center’ announced that Doyoung donated 100 million won ($72,713 USD) to help children and teenagers transitioning out of child welfare facilities.
This isn’t his first act of kindness. Earlier this year, he donated for his birthday and pledged to donate again if he won first place on music shows. Doyoung kept that promise after winning three times with his recent album, Soar.
“Thanks to the love of Czennies, I received the precious gift of winning first place and was able to fulfill my meaningful promise of donating. I hope that my donation will be helpful to children, teenagers, and young adults preparing for a new beginning, and I hope that they will find their own ‘strength to dream’ to their hearts’ content, just like the message of this album.” – Doyoung
Doyoung’s donation will provide essentials like food, nutritional supplements, and meal kits to those in need.
Manager Koh Ha-eun of the Direct Donation Center said,
“We will utilize Doyoung’s generous, heartfelt support to help youth preparing for independence and children in need of aid.”
Outstanding work, Doyoung! This act further cements his status as a role model in and out of the spotlight.
