Major Boy Band’s Drastic Member Shake-Up Triggers Intense Responses

Popular Boy Group's Extreme Lineup Change Sparks Heated Reactions

Saja Boys fans are furious after director Maggie Kang confirmed only Jinu returns in the sequel to Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters — no full comeback for the other members.

The fictional boy group, known for being demon idols, includes Jinu, Abby, Mystery, Romance, and Baby. The original movie sealed away four of the five members, leaving viewers with a bittersweet ending.

Fans hoped for deeper character exploration of the full group in a sequel given the series’ popularity. But Kang shut down those hopes during a recent fan Q&A, saying the other members were "side characters with no further depth to offer."

Korean netizens quickly reposted Kang’s comments online, expressing heartbreak and disappointment. Many were upset the director plans to introduce new characters instead of reviving Saja Boys fully.

“Nooooo.”
“Abby…TT”
“So, they’re doing a season 2?”

“Baby…”
“What an extreme member change…let’s just do season 2 as is.”
“What do you mean they were extras?”

The controversy is gaining traction as fans debate the extreme lineup change. Viewers are left wondering what this means for the future of KPop Demon Hunters’ world and their beloved demon idols.
