Choi Minhwan is facing controversy. The drummer of F.T. Island returns to the spotlight after a long hiatus tied to personal drama.
On July 11, Choi posted a photo of drumsticks on social media with the caption “FNC Band Kingdom.” Just hours later, fellow FNC artist Kang Minhyuk of CNBLUE shared a similar photo, tagging Choi and other FNC band drummers.
These musicians will perform in FNC Band Kingdom 2025, a massive showcase happening on July 12 and 13 at Makuhari Messe Event Hall in Chiba, Japan.
Choi’s comeback is significant. It’s his first public activity since his divorce from former LABOUM member Yulhee in December 2023. Yulhee made allegations about Choi’s private life, sparking controversy. He faced investigations on claims of solicitation and sexual misconduct but was cleared due to lack of evidence.
Looking ahead, Choi is set to resume domestic activities in August. F.T. Island will host their solo concert, [2025 FTISLAND LIVE ‘MAD HAPPY’] on August 23 and 24 at Blue Square Mastercard Hall in Seoul.
F.T. Island’s Lee Hongki connected with fans via Weverse, saying,
“Thank you. I had a lot on my mind and worries, but I’ll prepare this with joy.”
