Jungkook is going viral for catching a pronunciation error in the new Sony animated movie KPop Demon Hunters.
The film follows a trio of female idols who sing by day and slay demons by night. When a demon threat arises disguised as the rival boy group, the Saja Boys, HUNTR/X’s Rumi faces intense battles both external and internal.
Fresh out of military service in June, BTS’s Jungkook hosted a live stream where he reacted to the movie, sang one of its hit songs, and stunned fans with his sharp ears.
While singing the Saja Boys’ track “Soda Pop,” Jungkook pointed out this lyric mistake:
“In the lyrics, it’s supposed to be ‘seonge chajiana’ but it’s ‘seonge jachiana’.”
He explained,
“Seems like it was recorded backwards.”
The correct phrase 성에 차지 않아 (seong-e chaji ana), meaning “It’s not enough,” appears in the first verse. Netizens quickly confirmed the demo version pronounced it right, but the studio version in the movie messed it up.
Fans are praising Jungkook for his attention to detail after over 14 years in the game.
“This is the skill of someone who has been crafting his art for over 14 years, who is also insanely talented at what he does ”
“Wow.. how did he even pick that up”
The clip is spreading fast with fans admiring his professionalism and quick catch.
