NewJeans is officially done as the promotional ambassador for the Incheon Airport Customs Office.

Reports from Newsis on July 15 confirm that the customs office has ended its contract with NewJeans after just a year. The group was appointed in March 2023, but discussions for an extension didn’t pan out.

The controversy began soon after their appointment. Internal disputes at ADOR, their agency, became public, causing issues with NewJeans’ ambassador duties. The former CEO, Min Hee Jin, clashed with parent company HYBE, putting NewJeans in a tough spot.

Speculation about the end of the contract had been brewing since March, as the customs office started looking for new ambassadors.

Now, attention shifts to who will replace NewJeans as ambassador.

Meanwhile, the third court hearing in ADOR’s legal battle with NewJeans over their exclusive contracts is set for July 24.

Stay tuned for updates on the next ambassador!
