Woojunging, a popular Korean YouTuber with over 800,000 subscribers, is debuting as a 30-year-old idol in a four-member girl group. She will lead the project group alongside former LOONA member Hyunjin, rapper Mirani from Show Me The Money 9, and dancer Amy from Street Woman Fighter 2.
The girls’ debut will be showcased in the web variety show Today’s Debut Team (tentative title). Their first performance is scheduled for August 18, marking Korea’s Liberation Day 80th anniversary.
Production revealed a 30-second teaser of their debut song at a July 16 press conference in Seoul. The track is produced by EJAE, known for the Netflix hit “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters.
Woojunging spoke about her role as leader:
“I am the oldest member and the leader. I feel confident about this project and will get advice from QWER members.” – Woojunging
Amy expressed strong confidence:
“It’s a unique mix of people. Honestly speaking, I think we can be even more hip and dopamine-inducing than QWER.” – Amy
Rapper Mirani joined as a K-pop fan eager for new challenges. Hyunjin asked for fan support:
“The chemistry among the members is amazing. Please also look forward to our chemistry in variety shows.” – Hyunjin
Today’s Debut Team is co-produced by Studio Welcome and the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs. The show premiered on July 4 with new episodes every Friday at 6 p.m. KST.
The project is already drawing comparisons to QWER, the girl group produced by YouTuber Kim Gye Ran. Fans have high expectations for this veteran-led lineup.
