IU took home “Best Actress” at the “4th Blue Dragon Series Awards” for her role in Netflix’s hit K-Drama When Life Gives You Tangerines.
The show dominated big that night. IU’s emotional acceptance speech praised the project as “the most meaningful and proudest work of my life.”
IU:
“From the moment I first received the offer for When Life Gives You Tangerines, and then throughout the shoot, as well as while waiting for it to air and when it finally did… In fact, even now and for the rest of my life, this project will remain one of the most treasured experiences of my life. It was such an honor and such a joy to be able to work with the Tangerines team.”
“Although I can’t name everyone individually, I would like to thank the scriptwriter Lim Sang Choon and director Kim Won Seok, alongside every single cast and crew member whose names appear in the end credits. Thanks to all of you, I think I was able to truly let loose and have the most fun I’ve ever had in my life.”
“Thank you for entrusting me with the role of Aesun, the smartest, most talkative, and the loveliest woman to have been. Thank you so much to all the fans as well.”
“Lastly, to all the Ae Suns out there who have lived boldly and clearly in a world that demanded we live vaguely, and to all the Geum Myeongs who have planted and nurtured their ambitions with quiet strength around the world… I offer you my deepest respect and gratitude.”

Park Bo Gum, IU’s co-star and on-screen partner, was spotted in the audience beaming proudly and cheering her on like her biggest fan.
Their off-screen chemistry is still going strong, a key reason When Life Gives You Tangerines found huge success.
Huge congrats to IU on her well-deserved award!
