DAY6 is facing controversy over its recent fan meeting. Fans are outraged over JYP Entertainment’s handling of ID verification during the DAY6 4TH FANMEETING ‘PIER 10: All My Days’ on July 21.
The chaos started when many attendees experienced severe inconvenience due to excessive personal information requests. JYP Entertainment issued an apology, stating:
"First and foremost, we sincerely apologize to the attendees… We have confirmed the excessive collection and request of personal information during the concert."
The label claimed the problems stemmed from an external operator, which led to fans feeling frustrated and uncomfortable.
Despite the apology and a promise of full refunds for those unable to enter, the backlash continues. Fans took to online platforms to express their disappointment, accusing JYP of deflecting blame onto the external operators. Comments include:
"So they’re blaming the external operators now? They’re the ones who direct them, aren’t they?"
Critics are demanding accountability and expressing disbelief over the ID checks that left many fans denied entry.
One fan shared a shocking experience:
"I saw on X (formerly Twitter) that fans were rejected entrance because the photo on the ID didn’t match their face."
As tensions rise, frustration shows no signs of abating. Fans feel betrayed and humiliated for simply wanting to support their favorite group.
