Jennie is stirring up buzz again! The BLACKPINK star just claimed the title of Billboard’s No.1 K-pop song of 2025 with her track "like JENNIE."
Jennie graced the August cover of Elle Korea, showcasing her charm as a Chanel ambassador while rocking pieces from the 2025 Fall/Winter pre-collection. The shoot captures her relaxed moments, with Jennie saying:
"My favorite moment is simply waking up late at home, rested, and opening the window to look at the sky. It’s a peaceful and warm moment I treasure."
Her recent solo track “JENNIE” and the group’s comeback single “JUMP” are taking center stage as she reflects on her growth.
She mentioned:
"While working on Ruby, I pushed myself through trial and error. I became stronger, and so did the other members through their individual journeys. We’ve reunited as a more mature and understanding team."
The controversy surrounding her track "like JENNIE" continues as it becomes an anthem for self-empowerment. Jennie clarified:
"In this song, ‘JENNIE’ is just a symbol. Anyone who sings it should feel empowered and love themselves in their own way. I made it hoping it would give confidence—not just to others, but to myself too."
“like JENNIE” scored top accolades, ranked No.1 on Billboard’s The 25 Best K-Pop Songs of 2025 (So Far), praised for its impactful sound:
"a 2-minute powerhouse that flips every negative narrative and solidifies Jennie’s status as the next It-Girl, featuring the boldest rap of her career."
On the charts, it hit No.83 on the Billboard Hot 100, remained on the Pop Airplay chart for 11 weeks, outperforming her English track Mantra. The song’s dominance is evident, with the Spotify Global Impact List placing Jennie at No.1 as "like JENNIE" features among nine of her tracks.
