Song Young Kyu has been found dead at age 55.
The Yongin Eastern Police Station confirmed his death and is investigating. Song was discovered in a vehicle in Yongin around 8 AM KST on August 4. An acquaintance alerted police after identifying him.
The cause of death remains unknown. Reports say Song’s mental health worsened after his drunk driving scandal this past June. He had been removed from a drama following the incident.

“He was distressed by the malicious articles and comments, and the circumstances were extremely unfavorable at that time.”
Song rose to fame from the 2019 film Extreme Job. The investigation is ongoing.
