Jung Il Woo reignited old controversy over his “ideal type” from 19 years ago on SBS’s My Little Old Boy.
The actor addressed longtime misunderstandings about what he once said about dating. He revealed he’s never been involved in a dating scandal since debuting in 2006’s High Kick.
Host Shin Dong Yup brought up Jung Il Woo’s past ideal type: someone wise, reliable, and—surprisingly—good at using chopsticks.
Jung Il Woo explained his reasoning:
Jung Il Woo:
“These days, I do feel like I want to get married… I’ve never had any dating rumors to this day.”
Shin Dong Yup:
“You really managed to dodge them all, didn’t you? I heard your ideal type is someone wise, someone you can learn from, and… someone who’s good at using chopsticks?!”
Jung Il Woo:
“I once thought that how someone used chopsticks reflected their upbringing, so I wanted someone who knew how to use them the ‘right’ way. But now, it doesn’t really matter.”
Jung Il Woo:
“This is why you really have to be careful with what you say. I’ve been in the industry for 19 years, and something I said 19 years ago is still following me around. Back then, I thought the way someone used chopsticks reflected their upbringing, but now it doesn’t really matter to me.”
This isn’t the first time Jung Il Woo opened up about his dating life. On another show, he revealed he once went on a blind date with a fellow actress.
