Song Ha Yoon speaks out amid school bullying allegations from 20 years ago.
Her legal team at Law Firm Jieum revealed on July 2, 2025, that Song Ha Yoon denies all claims and has struggled to prove her innocence until now.
“In response to the school bullying controversy raised against Song Ha Yoon last year regarding incidents said to have occurred over 20 years ago, she has consistently maintained that these claims are false. However, proving that something did not happen has been extremely difficult, which delayed her ability to respond more actively. Song Ha Yoon has since been working to collect evidence to prove that the claims made by the initial spreader of the rumors, a person referred to as ‘Ms. Oh’, are false. As a result, she has independently gathered significant evidence and has filed a criminal complaint against Ms. Oh.”
Song Ha Yoon recently filed criminal charges against Ms. Oh for defamation under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, plus obstruction of business by fraud.
Although police found Ms. Oh’s actions merit investigation, she is currently in the U.S., claims U.S. citizenship, and refuses to cooperate. Authorities confirmed Ms. Oh still holds South Korean citizenship, so the case continues.
A “designated notification order” was issued for Ms. Oh in May and she is now on the national wanted list. Police will be alerted if she enters South Korea and the probe will resume.
Song Ha Yoon is also looking into legal action in the U.S. Her legal team plans to hold liable anyone who helped spread the false allegations.
Supporting materials include public institution records, notarized statements, and a key classmate who confirmed no assault was witnessed nor any transfer due to bullying.
The high school homeroom teacher and several classmates also cleared Song Ha Yoon of bullying accusations.
The controversy seems to be moving toward closure as Song Ha Yoon fights back legally.
