Tanaka Kei is making headlines again—this time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas.
The Japanese actor, who sparked outrage after news broke of his cheating scandal with fellow actress Nagano Mei, was spotted playing poker on July 17, 2025. Tanaka hid his face behind a black bucket hat and large white mask while competing at the high-stakes event.
Back in April, Shūkan Bunshun revealed photos allegedly showing Tanaka slipping into a car with Nagano Mei outside her apartment on April 19. The scandal exposed his affair while still married.
Now, the actor reportedly took third place in WSOP’s “$1000 Super Turbo” event, walking away with over $115,000 (about 17 million yen).
“Tanaka is known to be an avid gambler . He tries his hand at everything from horse racing and boat racing to pachinko, and in 2018, there were reports that he was playing mahjong for money.”

Fans remain disappointed but not surprised seeing Tanaka juggling poker success amid ongoing backlash.
“Just retire from the entertainment business already and go play professional poker instead. Like, get lost.”
“He’s totally addicted to dopamine.”
“A gambler, too? But wow, that prize money.”
“Should’ve just quit acting and gone down that path.”
The controversy around Tanaka Kei and Nagano Mei’s affair shows no signs of slowing down.
