Allday Project’s Initial Music Show Victory Provokes Anger and Heartbreak in Another Fandom

ALLDAY PROJECT's First Music Show Win Sparks Anger And Heartbreak For Another Fandom

ALLDAY PROJECT stirred controversy after claiming their first music show win just ten days post-debut.

On July 3, the rookie group took home the trophy on M Countdown. Their rapid success sparked celebration — and major backlash from fans of co-ed group KARD.

KARD debuted in 2017 but still haven’t scored a music show win. Fans expressed heartbreak seeing a barely-month-old group beat them to it. Many blamed the influence of THE BLACK LABEL and the “chaebol” status of ALLDAY PROJECT member Annie for the swift success.

Fans are frustrated that KARD’s longevity and overseas popularity haven’t earned them the same recognition in South Korea. The controversy raises questions about fairness in the industry and COMPANY support.

Twitter users vented their feelings:

“congrats to the group, but it really breaks my heart that KARD had to be there to witness a month-old coed group getting their first win after 8 years of trying to get a music show win ”

“Seeing that MCOUNTDOWN win, it really breaks my heart that we can’t do more for KARD. Like, I know that there’s only so much we can do as a small fandom but it really just feels like the cards are constantly stacked against KARD and they really do deserve better from everyone…”

“a month old co-ed group with that culture appropriating piece of shit got their first win before kard??? with kard on the stage as well ?? this is so fucked up oh my god”
— sarah (@blingblingkjh90)

“I feel like all we can do right now is just apologize to KARD for not doing more for them all these years”
— sea HOUSE OF KARD CEO (@shiyanasays)

“Are we clear that this is JUST bcs of money? They music is poorly done, their MV is boring af and that guy cultural appropriation was ‘erased’ with more money. It’s DISGUSTING how ppl used to judged KARD this past years and they didn’t care about them just bcs they aren’t from b4”

Several fans argued the co-ed format wasn’t the actual barrier, pointing to company support and resources instead:

“One thing we can pull from this is that we were right to say being coed was never the main problem or a problem that couldn’t be solved with other factors.”
— 아렐리- アレリ (@HiddenPGZ)

KARD remains beloved worldwide, and while music show wins don’t define success, fans are hopeful the group will get their deserved moment on stage. Meanwhile, ALLDAY PROJECT’s unprecedented quick win continues to draw mixed reactions across fandoms.
