ALLDAY PROJECT’s Tarzzan is facing backlash for dropping a Korean F-word equivalent in a fan-chat.
The controversy began when a fan posted a quirky comparison about Annie’s love, saying it’s like armpit hair, “keeps growing no matter how many times I shave it off.” Tarzzan replied, calling it “jonna” funny — jonna being a curse word close to the English F-bomb.
Soon after, Annie called him out for cursing publicly.
Annie: TARZZAN-ssi. I SAID NO CURSING.
Tarzzan tried to cover up with a lame excuse about talking about his friend Jon Na.
Tarzzan: Oh… I was talking about my friend, Jon Na. He’s really funny…
Annie wasn’t buying it.
Annie: Ugh, I should not have left early… He’s out of control.
Tarzzan eventually deleted the comment.
Screenshots of the exchange quickly went viral, sparking divided reactions online. Some fans shrugged it off, noting jonna is widely used and often comes up in casual slang.
“Other top idols did it too, so I thought maybe it’s okay these days… Guess not.”
“What’s wrong with ‘jonna’ though? People say jonjal (fcking handsome) and jonye (fcking pretty) all the time.”
“It’s funny, but I also feel for Annie struggling to keep him under control.”
“If an ordinary person cursed at work, people would say their personality is trash, no? LOL.”
Others criticized Tarzzan for being unprofessional and felt sorry for Annie’s role in damage control.
“As an idol, saying jonna on a fan platform is a bit ick…”
“I just feel bad for Annie.”
“Profanity is fine in private, but it’s getting normalized and I don’t like seeing celebrities casually swearing.”
“Annie really seems to have a good personality.”
“If it were a female idol instead of a male one, people wouldn’t be so lenient, LOL.”
“He should be more careful. I want to see ALLDAY PROJECT last long.”
This isn’t the first time Tarzzan has faced criticism recently. He is still under scrutiny for his behavior on and off stage.
