BIGBANG’s G-Dragon is facing backlash over his limited European tour stops.
He announced four shows for his Übermensch World Tour. The tour kicks off at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, on August 22. Then it hits T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on August 31, followed by Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on September 5. The only European date is at Paris La Défense Arena on September 20.
Fans are upset that Germany, a major European market, was not included. The tour’s name Übermensch has made German fans especially vocal about the absence.
The controversy began as soon as the dates dropped on June 16. Social media exploded.
“wtf are they doing? they’ll 100% add more dates in europe but don’t they realise that the sell for paris will be a war? bc it’s currently the only european date. also obv it’s arenas with 15-30k ppl as always. why are they so shitty at their job ” — sha (@seungt0phyun)
“bro there will probably be millions in the queue for Europe and hundreds of thousands in the US GDRAGON ISN’T NUGU GALAXY DO UR JOB PROPERLY I BEG U ” — 𝓀𝒶𝓇𝓁𝒶 𝜗𝜚 (@jiyongvamp)
“Galaxy count your days Gdragon fans from Europe will swarm your building in approximately 30.4 minutes” — 𝓀𝒶𝓇𝓁𝒶 𝜗𝜚 (@jiyongvamp)
It’s unclear if more European stops will be added, but fans hope so. If not, Paris ticket sales could turn chaotic.
The situation is gaining traction as fans vent their frustration online. The tour is set to be one of G-Dragon’s biggest, but European fans want more than just one date.
