BLACKPINK Jennie is facing backlash after her solo performance of “like JENNIE” during the group’s DEADLINE tour in Los Angeles.
BLACKPINK recently played two shows at SoFi Stadium. Each member performed solo tracks, with Jennie choosing the iconic “like JENNIE.”
Videos of her performance quickly went viral online — but not for good reasons. Fans slammed her, saying she barely sang and mostly shouted to the crowd. Many accused her of not putting 100% effort into the stage.
“She does not want to be on this tour…”
The criticism sparked comments questioning Jennie’s idol credentials, as vocal skill is expected from all K-pop artists.
However, some netizens jumped to defend Jennie. They pointed out she performed several songs earlier in the show and argued focusing on the intense choreography for this track justified her limited vocal moments.
BLACKPINK has already faced scrutiny for other tour performances, including their group song “JUMP” in LA.
The controversy is still heating up as fans debate Jennie’s stage presence and commitment to the tour. Management has yet to respond.
