Jimin and Jungkook of BTS are officially back! The duo completed their mandatory military service on June 11. Fans cheered as they arrived at a public stadium in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province around 8 a.m.
They stepped out to roaring applause, received flower bouquets, and saluted the crowd while announcing their discharge with the word “Unity.”
Jimin said,
"From COVID-19 to the military, it has been quite a long journey. Thank you so much for waiting. Now that I have been discharged, we will get back to painting the picture we have been envisioning. We will prepare well and show you."
Jimin also reflected on his military experience, stating,
“Having experienced it myself, I realized the military is not an easy place. There are many who are enduring hardship.”
Meanwhile, Jungkook wiped away tears and expressed gratitude:
“I want to thank my fellow soldiers and superiors who went through a lot with us. I am truly grateful for how well they looked after us.”
The atmosphere around the stadium was electric. Fans flew colorful balloons with messages like “Together Again With Jimin” and “We Missed You Jungkook.” Several banners congratulated their return.
Thousands of ARMY members showed up from around the world, despite BigHit Music asking fans to stay away. Placards read “Waiting Was a Joy Because It Was You Now Let’s Be Together Forever.”
Over 30 police officers managed crowd control in the area. Fans who couldn’t attend the discharge flocked to HYBE headquarters, turning it into a mini concert.
Jimin and Jungkook’s discharge follows RM and V releasing from service just a day earlier. With SUGA set to wrap up his duties on June 21, all members will soon be back together.
BTS will host the “2025 BTS FESTA” on June 13-14 at KINTEX in Goyang, celebrating their 12th anniversary.
J-Hope will also perform his final shows on June 13 and 14 at Goyang Stadium. Speculation runs high for surprise appearances from other BTS members.
