CL and Yang Hyun Suk’s Confidential Meeting Fuels Speculation About 2NE1’s Future

CL And Yang Hyun Suk's Private Meeting Spark Speculations About 2NE1's Future

CL and YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun Suk held a private meeting recently, raising questions about 2NE1’s future.

Industry insiders say this is part of ongoing talks since 2NE1’s 15th anniversary reunion in 2024.

The group’s 2024 “Welcome Back” world tour drew packed crowds across 12 sold-out shows in 11 countries. 2NE1 remains active under YG as a group while members pursue solo work with other agencies.

They also performed at a major US music festival this year and are booked for Waterbomb Bali 2025. Their popularity is still strong.

When asked about the meeting, a YG representative said:

> “Since it was a private meeting, we can’t confirm any specific details.”

Speculation is heating up after YG’s 2025 Sustainability Report dropped 2NE1 from its official artist list. Fans worry the group’s future depends on short-term or project-based contracts.

Without contract renewal, 2NE1 can’t release new music under their name unless YG explicitly allows it.

The CL-Yang meeting has fans on edge, wondering if new group activities are on the horizon or if 2NE1’s legacy is in jeopardy.
