NewJeans is caught in a legal battle as the Seoul High Court dismissed their injunction appeal against ADOR on June 17.
The Seoul Central District Court initially granted ADOR an injunction to block NewJeans from signing advertising contracts independently, siding with the agency.
NewJeans objected but lost again and immediately appealed.
The higher court upheld the ruling, meaning NewJeans cannot promote or work independently without ADOR.
NewJeans declared they will not return to ADOR, stating during the second hearing:
“The trust relationship has already been broken. We have crossed the river of no return.”
If NewJeans proceed with activities independently but with ADOR’s prior approval, the court said they must pay a hefty fee per violation.
Promoting on their own ground just got much harder for NewJeans.
