DAY6 Chosen as Kia Motors Model, “Featuring Young K without a Driver’s License”

DAY6 selected as Kia Motors model, "including Young K without a driver's license"

DAY6 is now the face of Kia Motors! The popular band was officially announced as models for the Kia Tasman.

On July 4, Kia Korea launched a promotional video titled "Kia | [The Kia Tasman X DAY6] 6Days, The Beginning of the Adventure." The vid features DAY6 leader Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon, promoting the new vehicle.

Kia’s statement:

“Youth, music, travel – and freedom, as envisioned with DAY6! A bold yet effortlessly smooth six-day adventure with DAY6 begins now. Watch the beginning unfold today.”

This partnership spawned DAY6’s first film, 6DAYS, set to hit theaters via CGV in August. The movie, produced by MBC, captures their journey in celebration of their 10th debut anniversary.

During the film, the group traveled across the US, embracing freedom from their packed schedules. The movie promises scenic landscapes, personal playlists, and intimate performances.

In a separate video, the members visited Kia’s headquarters. Young K was greeted warmly. He responded:

“As a Kia model, I’ll work hard once again. Thank you.”

The guys got hands-on with the Tasman. Dowoon joked with Young K,

“Our brother made it. You made it. Hurry up and get in.”

Young K chimed in,

“This looks perfect for a road trip.”

Wonpil added from the backseat,

“This is nice.”

Sungjin reminisced about filming their "Hi Hello" music video, recalling moments in a pickup truck. Young K continued,

“I remember fixing a car in that music video.”

Young K struggled with car terms, especially since he’s the only member without a driver’s license. Sungjin, however, impressed everyone with his car knowledge.

Wonpil even educated the staff on the Tasman’s namesake:

“Tasman is the name of a Dutch explorer who first discovered New Zealand. So it means to live like an explorer while driving this car.”

DAY6 will celebrate their 10th anniversary on September 7. They’ve been busy: a national tour, a global world tour, and launching their latest album, Maybe Tomorrow, on May 7. They’re also set for a six-day solo concert at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena.

Their upcoming fan meeting, PIER 10: All My Days, runs from July 18–20 and 25–27 at Jamsil Indoor Stadium.

Fans have reacted with humor over Young K’s lack of a driver’s license. Tweets and comments are filled with laughter:

“Young K is hilarious no matter what he does lol,”
“Even unlicensed Young K is included lol,”
“Ah, now the whole world knows he doesn’t have a license lol.”

Congratulations to DAY6 on this exciting new chapter!
