On May 8 KST, NCT’s Doyoung reached out to fans in a heartfelt post on Weverse, addressing concerns about the group’s future. His candid message came in response to rising frustration among fans regarding NCT 127’s upcoming plans.
Doyoung began by checking in on fans, saying,
“Hello. How have you been?”
He acknowledged the seriousness of his message, noting,
“It’s been a while since I wrote such a serious post, so I thought I’d start with a generic greeting, even if it seems a little rigid.”
While admitting that the thoughts he was about to share might lead to more frustration, he felt it was necessary to communicate openly. He understood that many fans were grappling with disappointment about the group’s future.
“I am well aware that many of you are harboring frustration and disappointment in your hearts,”
he stated, emphasizing the group’s ongoing deliberation over how to navigate their absence.
Doyoung also touched on the highly anticipated encore concert, which many fans were eager to see. Although he isn’t directly involved in planning with SM Entertainment, he stressed that both the company and the members tried their best to make it happen. Unfortunately, it didn’t come to fruition, leaving fans unsettled.
“In the end, we could not make it work, and that turned out to be a disappointment for many of you,”
he expressed, adding that the effort made by all involved should not be dismissed.
He urged fans to trust in NCT 127, assuring them that:
“There is not a single member of NCT 127 who puts their own career before the team.”
Doyoung reassured fans that even during temporary absences from members like Taeyong and Jaehyun, they would all continue to support NCT 127 together.
“Even now, while Taeyong and Jaehyun are away temporarily, the 6 of us and Czennies are here protecting this team.”
He concluded his message with a heartfelt note, saying:
“NCT 127 promises to be a team that you can trust, a team that can guarantee that while you are a fan of this group, pouring your heart out for us, you will not be betrayed.”
This candid share comes in light of recent protests by fans unhappy with SM Entertainment’s announcement of its ‘Music Line-Up Preview’ for the latter half of 2025. The preview highlighted plans for Doyoung’s upcoming solo album, alongside comebacks for NCT Dream and Haechan. In response, NCT 127 fans called for clear schedules regarding their own activities, including an encore concert in Seoul and a comeback slated for the latter half of the year.
