Dragon Pony has been named Billboard’s K-pop Rookie of the Month for May. In a feature published on May 15, the outlet recognized the group as a standout in Korea’s rock scene.
“Dragon Pony is a four-member Korean rock band bringing fresh energy and musical depth to the scene,” Billboard noted, highlighting their contributions to songwriting and production that emphasize honest storytelling. The publication described them as “a force redefining what modern Korean rock can be.”
Billboard also acknowledged the group’s rapid rise, marked by their appearance at the Busan International Rock Festival, a nationwide club tour, and a sold-out concert in Taipei. In an interview, the band expressed their gratitude for the recognition, stating, “We’re incredibly honored and grateful to be chosen as Billboard’s K-pop Rookie of the Month. We’ll keep pushing ourselves to reach the Billboard charts and grow even more.”
Additionally, they shared aspirations for a future world tour and dreams of headlining major festivals such as Glastonbury and Coachella, alongside the Super Bowl halftime show.
Following their recognition, Dragon Pony will return to Taipei for the ‘Dragon Pony 1st Concert ‘Not Out’ in Taipei’ on May 23–24, and will perform at prominent Korean music festivals including ‘Beautiful Mint Life 2025’ on June 14 and the ‘2025 Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival’ on August 1, further solidifying their status as a rising presence in the live music scene.
