The American R&B duo Emotional Oranges has set the record straight regarding swirling rumors about a potential collaboration with NewJeans’ Danielle.
On May 21, the duo took to Instagram to clear the air, stating, “Guys, there’s no Dani collab, I was just helping produce a song for Livvie!! Sorry if we caused any confusion, but that genuinely wasn’t the intention.” Here, “Livvie” refers to Olivia Marsh, Danielle’s older sister.
In their message, they reassured fans, saying, “Sorry if we caused any confusion, but that genuinely wasn’t the intention,” and added, “Hope you’re enjoying orenjii & we can’t wait to see you on tour soon.”

Speculation kicked off on May 19 when Emotional Oranges shared a picture of Danielle lounging in a studio chair, accompanied by the caption, “Just give us some time, guys. It’s coming.” Along with an orange emoji representing their brand and a bunny emoji often associated with NewJeans, the post ignited excitement among fans who started to wonder if a collaborative project was in the works.

However, the buzz around this possible collaboration became more complicated amid NewJeans’ ongoing legal tussle with their agency, ADOR. A court ruling has temporarily barred the group from independent activities, adding a layer of intrigue to the situation. Following the backlash, the duo has since deleted the original post.
